Occupational Therapist - Orchard View Post Acute

At Orchard View Post Acute, we are dedicated to helping our residents achieve the highest level of independence and quality of life. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team.

General Purpose

The Staff Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients, develops individualized treatment plans, communicates with families and the care team, and maintains accurate documentation of services. This role also supports staff training and supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants in accordance with state practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients within 24 hours of physician referral and document findings
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
  • Provide direct patient care and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and discharge planning
  • Train nursing staff and families in restorative and maintenance programs
  • Maintain timely and accurate medical records in compliance with state and payer requirements
  • Recommend and assist with durable medical equipment needs to promote patient independence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or Doctorate preferred)
  • Current, active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Idaho
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare) preferred
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently; occasional lifting over 100 lbs with assistance
