Job Description
Primary Function of Position:

This Senior SQA Technician will play a key role in the vision automation, test, and calibration software engineering team to enable the manufacturing of new vision systems for surgical robots. The technician will be responsible for installing new fixture software, performing fixture bring-up, testing functionality, identifying and replicating issues, and executing qualification protocols. This role bridges the gap between software development and hands-on validation and supports software quality and fixture readiness.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure software on new or updated test fixtures
  • Perform fixture bring-up and verify software and hardware functionality
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and replicate problems as needed
  • Execute structured test plans and validation protocols
  • Document test results and issues following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Provide feedback to engineers and suggest improvements to fixtures and processes
  • Prepare fixtures for qualification and deployment
  • Support internal release processes including documentation and status updates
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure fixture readiness
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

Required:

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a software test or technician role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to execute structured test plans and document outcomes accurately
  • Comfortable working independently and managing task priorities

Preferred:
  • Experience in medical device or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with test documentation, issue tracking systems, and software testing tools
  • Basic scripting knowledge for test automation or issue replication
  • Exposure to calibration or vision systems is a plus

  • Quick learner, adaptable to evolving software and hardware environments
  • Comfortable working in lab and engineering environments

Additional Notes: This role is critical in ensuring the functionality and reliability of test and calibration fixtures before they are released to production. The technician will work closely with the engineering team to support high-quality software deployment and test execution.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $41 USD - $55 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $35 USD - $47 USD
