We are seeking a creative and energetic Activities Director to lead our recreational programming and enrich the lives of our residents.

Position Overview:
As the Activities Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a diverse range of programs and events that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for our residents. Your role will involve developing individualized activity plans, leading group activities, and ensuring that each resident's unique interests and needs are addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily recreational activities for residents, both individually and in group settings.
  • Develop activity programs that cater to residents' cognitive, physical, emotional, and social needs, ensuring inclusivity for all ability levels.
  • Conduct one-on-one assessments to understand residents' interests, preferences, and history to tailor activities that promote engagement and joy.
  • Lead activities such as arts and crafts, games, music therapy, physical fitness programs, social events, and outings.
  • Coordinate with other departments (nursing, dietary, therapy) to ensure activities align with residents' health and wellness needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress in activities, including required reporting for regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment where residents feel empowered to participate and connect with others.
  • Stay up to date with current trends in geriatric activities programming, utilizing new ideas to keep the calendar exciting and fresh.
  • Train and supervise a team of activity assistants and volunteers to help deliver the activity programs effectively.

Qualifications:
  • Experience working with elderly or in a skilled nursing facility setting is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and patient-focused with a passion for improving residents' quality of life.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic recreational activities and a commitment to staying informed on industry trends.
  • Certification in Activity Director (ADC) or similar
