End User Computing Technician - Atlanta, Georgia (Information Technology)



Are you a tech-savvy problem solver who thrives on helping others? Join The E.W. Scripps team in Atlanta, Georgia as an End User Computing Technician II where you'll provide critical technical support that keeps our organization running smoothly. In this role, you'll be the technology lifeline for our employees, ensuring they have the tools and support they need to excel in their work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Respond to service desk tickets, troubleshooting hardware and software issues for end-users

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software on desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals

  • Maintain and update systems to ensure software and operating systems are up to date and free from bugs and malware

  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including replacing hard drives, motherboards, and memory

  • Provide training and support to employees on effective hardware and software use

  • Document all support activities in the Scripps incident management system

  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets

  • Collaborate with other Scripps Technology teams to resolve complex issues and implement new technologies

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High School Diploma preferred

  • 1-3 years of desktop support experience

  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) or similar certifications desired

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Working knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux

  • Working knowledge of Azure, Entra, Intune, Jamf, and similar enterprise tools desired

  • Familiarity with Dell/HP and Mac laptops

  • Understanding of network protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and diagnostic tools

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent customer service abilities

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Skills in documenting technical support activities and maintaining accurate records

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Requires ability to sit for long periods, listen and converse over the telephone, and frequently type on a computer (4+ hours per day)

  • Requires the ability to work shifts outside of normal working hours including holidays, weekends, and evenings

  • Ability to be on call and support a 24/7 operations environment as needed
