Systems Specialist I (Finance)



TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Systems Specialist I join our team in the San Francisco Bay area

Job Summary: The System Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day administration and monitoring of Project Production Servers and network devices as well as troubleshooting Operating System, software, and hardware issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides first level support for toll hardware and software on projects.
  • Provides monitoring and reports of the operational status of LAN/WAN environment as needed.
  • Recommends changes in operating procedures, hardware standards, and software standards as warranted by new technological changes and operating conditions.
  • Daily system maintenance review, such as systems log, antivirus server logs, etc.
  • Maintain PCI and security Compliance for various projects as needed
  • Installs and configures computer equipment.
  • Answers questions and solves hardware and software related problems.
  • Provides troubleshooting and repair for moderate network solutions.
  • Recommends the acquisition or new hardware and/or software as needed.
  • Interacts with vendors and clients.
  • Coordinates activities with Field Technicians.
  • Refers issues to Field Technicians.
  • Provides training to Field Technicians and Installers.
  • Provides user manuals and training documentation.
  • Assists Engineers with hardware design.
  • Assists with installation of toll equipment.
  • Prepare Engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Evaluates interface between users, hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall desktop system.
  • Ensure maximum up time for project production environment
  • Maintain the develop and testing environment for various projects in the lab

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in in Computer Studies/Information Systems and/or equivalent proven work experience in the specific field of network administration/technology management required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Typically requires 0-2 years of general experience
  • Microsoft Windows 2019/2022
  • Active Directory
  • Cabling
  • Virtualization - Hyper-V (preferred)
  • CISCO and Moxa network devices, networking knowledges - VLAN, routing, ACL, Syslog
  • Ability to multitask, keeping multiple tasks moving forward
  • Ability to move easily from task to task in a dynamic environment
  • Good communications skill with the ability to provide assistance to non-technical users
