What's the role?

To strengthen our Team within Vision, we are seeking a The Strategy function drives the strategic and corporate development of Carl Zeiss Vision, Inc (CZV). Key tasks of the Associate Manager of Corporate Strategy are to develop the strategy of the US Vision business. Position will support execution of strategy as well as identify, align, plan, lead and coordinate strategically relevant projects. This position will closely collaborate with the US Leadership Team to further develop the US business & organization.

Initiatives within Strategy are cross-functional by nature and require interacting and working with a wide range of functional groups, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain Management, IT, Operations, Finance & Accounting, HR and the ZEISS Headquarter function in Germany.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Update and improve US business strategy in close alignment with the Executive Team and interact with ZEISS HQ to provide & align inputs for the strategy process
  • Lead and manage major strategic projects and steer respective teams in close collaboration with topic owner(s) on Leadership Team as well as x-functional groups across the organization
  • Screen competitor dynamics in the US and propose actions to gain market share.
  • Orchestrate monthly US Leadership Team meetings (agenda, content-related preparation & follow-up with a focus on cross-functional topics)
  • Orchestrate the content-related preparation of semi-annual business reviews with CZV CEO/CFO
  • Support Leadership Team in defining and executing Annual list of VLT projects. Ensure monthly project updates are completed for scheduled in-person VLT meetings.
  • As needed, assume ownership of VLT project(s) and drive for completion.
  • Own relevant business topic(s) on a continuous day-to-day basis, incl. lateral leadership and steering of involved functional teams, e.g.:
    • Implementation of digital business map
    • Management of strategic partnerships to develop adjacent business fields
    • Others as strategy evolves
  • Support Leadership Team in evaluating and implementing business development projects in North America
  • Support Leadership Team in potential customer acquisitions or other transformational initiatives.

Do you qualify?

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • MBA Preferred
  • Prior experience in management/business consulting
  • 3 Years Related Experience Required
  • 4-5 Year Related Experience Preferred
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills required
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills required
  • PMP and/or PROSCI Certification Desirable
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
