We presently have an employment opportunity for an Detailer in one of our operations. In this new role, the Detailer improves the appearance of vehicles by performing an extremely thorough cleaning and refurbishing of the interior and exterior using a variety of cleaning equipment and products to produce a high level, show-quality level of detail.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

  • Cleans, washes, refurbishes, waxes and polishes vehicles both inside and out using cleaning solutions, water, brushes, cloths and vacuums.
  • Wipes and buffs surfaces to protect and preserve shine using a buffing machine or cloth.
  • Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces using cleaning agents, applicators and various cleaning devices.
  • Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabric with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.
  • Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
  • Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials not normally removed by traditional cleaning procedures.
  • Paints engine components and related parts using a spray gun or aerosol can and masking materials.
  • Applies paint to chipped body surfaces of vehicles using touch up paint.
  • Applies dyes and reconditioning chemicals to vinyl tops of vehicle interiors to restore color and condition.
  • Inspects work for quality assurance and dealership standards.
  • Maintains detail area clean.
  • Drive vehicles out of the detail area into the finish areas.

Position Requirements:

  • Must have an unrestricted driver's license with no Type A violations in the last three years based on violation date, a maximum of two Type B violations in the last two years based on violation date and must be able to drive vehicles with a manual transmission.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions.
  • Experience using a buffing machine and all detailing products and devices preferred.
