Basic Machine Operator - Medical Assistant (Urgent Care, Lake Nona) (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant/Basic Machine Operator (Urgent Care - Lake Nona) to join our Nemours Children's Health team.

**$3,500 Sign on Bonus offered (external applicants only)

Nemours pediatric urgent care centers provide a kid-friendly, family-centered experience for families seeking urgent care services at night and on weekends. With three centers conveniently located in the greater Orlando area, we deliver exceptional Nemours care to families where - and when - they need it most.

Nemours Children's Urgent Care MA/Basic MachineOperator, as assigned by the Operations Manager or AVP, ensures clinical support to the urgent care division. This position works as a part of a team in planning and achieving both clinical and organizational goals and objectives. The Basic Machine Operator/MA role is an accompaniment to the individual's current daily responsibilities.

  • Responsible for patient flow of clinic-
    • Provides quality patient care:
      • Obtains vital signs and anticipates patient and provide needs.
      • Conducts preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical phases of laboratory.
      • Perform clinicprocedures within scope of practice.
      • Gives aftercare instruction.
      • Discharges/transfers patients.
  • Cross Trained as a UC
    • Proficient in all unit coordinator responsibilities.
    • Provides cross coverage routinely.
  • Specific Duties and Responsibilities for the BMO Role
    • Responsible for operation and care of all otherradiology and patientcare equipment as needed.
    • Performs, develops, and delivers radiology images according to protocol.
    • Transmits radiology images to be viewed by a radiologist.
    • Releases radiology images to patient for follow-up care.
    • Knowledge of the Digitizing room procedures.
  • Inventory, stock supplies and cleanliness of designated work areas
  • Ensures all emergency equipment and supplies are available and operational. Familiar with proper procedure for equipment failure.
  • Assists in cleaning of site, including trash, bathrooms, floors and patient rooms.
  • Attends training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Assists in the follow-up phone calls from the previous day.
  • All other duties assigned.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Specialized (1 year of training beyond highschool).
  • One (1) year pediatric Medical Assistance experience or equivalent required.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification.
  • State of Florida BMO Certification.
  • Travel to all urgent care locations required.
