Social Media Assistant (Finance)



Hourly Rate: $16.00/hourly

Schedule: Part-Time, 20 Hours per week.

About the Role

The University of South Florida Athletic Department is looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Social Media Assistant to join our external digital management team. This position will support the promotion of South Florida's 21 varsity sports programs through innovative and engaging social media content that connects with Bulls fans nationwide.

As a Social Media Assistant, you'll play a key role in enhancing the Bulls brand by creating real-time content, assisting with media coverage during games, and helping to grow our online presence across platforms such as Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, and YouTube.Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed (game coverage).
  • Basic photo and video editing skills; experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva a plus.
  • Passion for sports and familiarity with NCAA athletics is highly encouraged.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist with content creation, including graphics, photos, videos, and copy for USF Athletics social channels and digital assets.

  • Cover live sporting events (home and select away games) with real-time social updates and written articles.
  • \n
  • Monitor trends and provide input on emerging platforms, styles, and engagement tactics.
  • \n
  • Help organize and schedule weekly content calendars.
  • \n
  • Work closely with the communications, marketing, and creative teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • \n
  • Participate in brainstorms and creative planning meetings.
  • \n
  • Track and report on social media analytics and engagement metrics.
