Relationship Specialist- Investment Services (Finance)



Job Description Summary

Provides administrative and operational support for the Financial Consultants in the Investments & Insurances department. Serves as liaison for the members by conducting inbound and outbound calls, scheduling appointments, performing account set-up and file maintenance, and coordinating referral activities. A Relationship Specialist – Investment Services is distinguished from Registered Relationship Specialist – Investment Services in that employees in the latter job perform more complex investment related administrative and operations support functions. This requires advanced knowledge of products, policies and regulations. To perform at this level a Registered Relationship Specialist – Investment Services will use their knowledge gained through experience and certifications to provide service to clients or internal customers.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates brokerage office activities in support of the Financial Advisor sales force to provide meaningful activity and organizational support. Work with member/clients or prospects to address account issues; problem resolution; paperwork and documentation completion and deficiency resolution (NIGOs) as needed or instructed; handling of member/client requests.
  • Assist in coordinating client events; preparation of marketing and seminar materials and support the advisors' efforts to market to clients and prospects; working with LPL to ensure that all marketing, client communication and seminar materials have been submitted and approved. Maintain a working knowledge of all Redstone products and services to generate referrals to and from the all business lines of Credit Union.
  • Prioritize calling efforts to meet weekly appointment goals; schedule annual reviews; follow-up on direct mail campaigns; problem resolution; paperwork deficiencies; member/client follow-up and other assigned calling activities which could be wide in scope.
  • Greets members; assesses their needs and concerns; provides general account information; documents and processes requests for new products and services.
  • Coordinates referral tracking and reporting for assigned investment products.
  • Documents and processes departmental work, including but not limited to; verifying for accuracy and completeness, performing research, scanning and filing documents and other materials, retrieving and releasing documents and records.
  • Performs specialized data entry to prepare a variety of standard materials, documents and reports; updates computer records and databases; completes and processes standard forms related to areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinates referral tracking program and reporting.
  • Operates computers, scanners, copiers, optical imaging, mail and other related standard office and processing equipment.
  • Maintains records of work performed; assists in maintaining an inventory of supplies for the department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma/GED

2 Years Financial Industry Experience

Prior brokerage or wire house administrative experience preferred

  • Effectively apply internal and external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.
  • Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions.
  • Resolve problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience.
  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Operate computers and use business software and other standard office equipment.
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Set priorities and manage one's own time effectively.
