Senior Finance Director (Project Management)



Job Summary

Job Description

Provide finance leadership of Medline Brand Surgical Solutions Product Category.

Strategic business partnering with EVP of Medline Brand Surgical Solutions Product Category.

Overseeing FPA team, directing financial strategy, planning, forecasts, and monthly reporting.

Provide executive level insight on the financial impact of business operations to senior business leaders.

Align with leadership to drive the financial performance of the company ensuring compliance and effective risk management.

Lead and prioritize team projects and analysis across the company.

  • Partner with EVP, General Managers, Manufacturing leaders (US and International), and Finance leadership to develop strategic initiatives to maximize profitability and assess overall company performance.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals.

  • Lead the financial planning and forecasting for business areas, ensuring comprehensive processes that align with strategic priorities.

  • Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction and compliance with financial regulations.

  • Manage FPA team and Plant controller by setting goals to ensure effective performance.  Build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.

  • Analyze company financial results, trends and metrics on a monthly basis and provide key business drivers and insights to Executives, CFO and Investor Relations team.

  • Oversee and manage the finance support for transverse activities impacting divisions, manufacturing, sourcing, pricing, operations, etc.

  • Represent the Finance organization in strategic initiatives where changes or new technologies are introduced or financial data is required.  Assess the impact of proposed changes to the Finance organization and advises/acts accordingly.

  • Perform ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and provide decision support for future business planning decisions, and investments.

  • Support Finance leadership and key business partners (General Managers, Group Presidents) in ad hoc projects and other key business initiatives.

  • Lead analysis and support of M&A and other business development activities or business investments.  Create and own cash flow models, paybacks and ROI analysis.

Management responsibilities include:

  • Typically manages through multiple Managers

  • Provide leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability

  • Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department

  • Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs

  • Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies

  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • At least 15 years of financial planning, reporting and/or analysis experience.

  • At least 10 years of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L/business owners.

  • Experience in leading strategic decision-making and goal setting initiatives.

  • Experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing team members

  • Advance knowledge level of finance and finance business processes.

  • Ability to create and enhance business partner relationships.

  • Merger & Acquisition or Business Development experience with Financial modeling.

  • Willing to travel for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • MBA

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$175,760.00 - $263,640.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
