Your Role
As a Land Survey Intern, you'll gain real-world experience supporting both field and office survey activities. You'll learn directly from licensed surveyors and engineers while contributing to projects that range from roadway and utility design to site development and infrastructure improvements. This internship will give you exposure to traditional surveying practices as well as emerging technologies like drone surveys and laser scanning.
In this internship, you will:
- Assist in collecting and processing survey data under the guidance of experienced staff.
- Support drafting, mapping, and office survey tasks using industry software.
- Learn to operate survey equipment and gain familiarity with GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Participate in fieldwork that may include topographic, boundary, and control surveys.
- Collaborate with project teams and gain insight into how surveying supports civil engineering design.
- Receive mentorship to help you build technical skills and prepare for future career opportunities.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other CAD software is a plus (training will be provided).
- Strong interest in developing technical skills in surveying and mapping.
- Ability to work outdoors and occasionally lift/carry up to 40 lbs. across uneven terrain.
- Valid California Driver's License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- Valid California State Driver's License required.
The salary range for this role is $23 - $26.
