PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT (Project Management)

  • This position is designed and intended to be performed in Sheldon, IA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises all production employees and is responsible for the overall appearance and upkeep of the facility.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of the finished feed and ingredients to the Plant Manager.
  • Participate with the HACCP Feed & Food Safety Team.
  • Schedule and review production records to ensure all activities are in compliance with cGMP.
  • Supervise and train all production personnel.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of incoming ingredients and purchased products in order to efficiently operate the production plant and provide finished products to our customers as desired.
  • Recommend to the Plant Manager changes to the feed plant or personnel to increase quality or efficiency.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in all areas of plant operations as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of feed manufacturing and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, particularly in the application of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Understanding of feed mill equipment and layout.
  • Displays and executes good supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated attendance and work reliability.
  • Experience and knowledge of GMP's, HACCP and FSMA.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to walk through plant, climb ladders, and stairs on a regular basis.

TRAVEL:

  • Minimal <5%.
