Organizational Development Manager (Finance)



At Blue, we discover pathways to realize your possibilities! Our Organization Development Manager leads initiatives that strengthen Blue's culture, employee engagement, and member experience. Managing the Culture and Employee Champion Pod, this role provides strategic direction for culture programs, service and sales initiatives, onboarding, and employee development. The Organization Development Manager also supports leadership training and offers coaching and mentorship for leaders at all levels.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct strategic planning for culture programs, employee engagement, service training, Onboarding programs, and employee development initiatives. Manage and coach team members, managing performance, hiring, training, and compliance with policies and standards. Evaluate program effectiveness, track metrics, and recommend improvements to leadership to ensure impact on employee experience, member satisfaction, and organizational performance. Foster collaboration and provide performance feedback to build a high-performing, growth-oriented team. Leading a motivated, high performing team, who are proficient and effective in supporting new and existing employee needs.
  • Mentor and support new and tenured leaders through the onboarding programs and on-call coaching. Includes proactively reaching out to leaders during the onboarding phase, establishing a regular cadence for supportive communication. Serves as supplementary support to New Employee Orientation/Onboarding overflow needs of the department. Conducts leadership training for current and emerging levels in partnership with people leadership. Advise managers on coaching, service skills, engagement, and performance management, using survey and people data to inform action plans.
  • Service Training: Works with leadership to manage, design and support delivery of service and sales training for staff, ensuring consistent content, quality facilitation, and effective measurement. Partner with branch leaders during overflow, to address gaps and continuously improve service delivery standards. Onboarding & NEO: Manage onboarding programs to provide a welcoming, engaging experience and ensure managers have the tools to integrate new team members effectively. Employee Support: Coordinates training and tools for direct reports in ensuring staff is knowledgeable of credit union products, philosophies, core system functions and capabilities, building exceptional environments for our members and our staff, with comprehension of processes and procedures, and effective implementation of service and member development skills. Culture Programs: Support and monitor programs such as Hotline, ERGs, Culture Ambassadors, and Pathways, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and vision to create a cohesive and culturally unified organization and measuring engagement outcomes.
  • Support change initiatives through communication, training, and engagement strategies to ensure adoption and reduce resistance.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

5–8 years in organizational development, training, or culture roles, with at least 2 years in leadership. Experience designing leadership development programs and managing direct reports preferred.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree. Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, HR, Business, or related field preferred.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

FULL TIME POSITION

Starting Range: $68,873.82 - $77,073.08

Full Range: $65,594.11 - $98,391.17

Physical Requirements

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
