Water Wastewater Engineer (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Water Wastewater Engineer to join our Resilience Water Team in Plantation or Miami, Florida.

This candidate will leverage their experience in water and wastewater treatment facility engineering, water distribution systems, wastewater stormwater collection systems and pump stations including planning, condition assessments, investigations, studies, analysis, designs, and construction administration services and ensuring compliance with codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis quality and safety practices.

Role accountabilities:

The candidate in this role will evaluate, plan, design, permit and support management of projects for water/wastewater and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities). Other projects may include distribution system improvement projects, conveyance-related construction projects, pump station rehabilitation, gravity sewer main rehabilitation construction projects, inflow and infiltration assessment and reduction programs, water treatment and reclamation.

In addition, this role may support professional engineering services during construction: construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to request for information (RFIs) and permit closeouts.

Additional responsibilities will include:

Lead water and wastewater projects through the planning, design and construction phases.

Overseeing the development of design calculations, technical report sections, technical design drawings and specifications

Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.

Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.

Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the country.

Learn / use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality.

Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.

Participate in professional associations, activities and conferences.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of water, wastewater, or stormwater experience at a comparable engineering consulting firm.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study.
  • EIT certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of water, wastewater or stormwater experience at a comparable engineering consulting firm.
  • Florida PE License or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field of study.
  • Technical expertise and experience with water and wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with the local municipalities.
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional association(s).
  • Experience/training with AutoCAD and/or Revit, ArcGIS.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
