- Minimum 2 years previous work experience in finance and/or accounting
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications:
- Cost accounting experience
- Previous internal audit experience
- Experience working for a manufacturing company
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- MBA, CMA and / or CPA
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in both written and oral form
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience with querying databases
- Excellent analytical skills
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the Engines HQ Controller with forecasting and planning activities for the HQ cost centers
- Weekly monitoring of Engines HQ month-to-date activity and projections to identify opportunities or risks, allowing for countermeasures to be deployed.
- Support Engines HQ month-end closing activities, including coordination of closing entries and account reconciliations.
- Review Engines HQ monthly actual, forecast, and plan performance; understand deviations from both forecast and plan to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Evaluate Engines HQ Capital project proposals and monitor ongoing spend
- Lead internal control processes and audit requirements for Engines HQ and support other Engines locations, as needed
- Track execution of cost savings projects and coordinate reporting.
- Lead process improvement projects to achieve world-class performance across Engines operations
- Analysis of plant spending and monitoring spend management systems.
- Financial analysis and process development for special projects, as required.
- Assistance with Peer Review activity across Howmet Engines, as required.
