Pharmacy Data Analyst, First Shift, Outpatient Pharmacy (Finance)

UC Health is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Data Analyst for Outpatient Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati's Medical Center.

This individual will play a crucial role in analyzing pharmacy data to support population health initiatives,
improve medication management, and enhance patient outcomes. You will work closely with other healthcare
professionals, utilizing data to identify trends, gaps in care, and opportunities for improvement across various
health populations.

Education: required High School Diploma or GED.Preferred: Bachelor's Degree - Business, Information Management or Finance

License and Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) or similar certifications preferred but not required.

Years of Experience: No experience required, 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities and solve problems; respond quickly to emergency requests; communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $20.94/hr.- $26.47/hr.

The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position.

  • Gathers, inputs and compares statistical data from hospital departments, reports, and patient medical records. Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding data, including maintaining correctness and validity of data. Tailors data to meet the needs of the end-user.
  • Prepares statistical, aggregate and other reports and graphs to support the medical staff and administrative departments, senior management teams, and Enterprise-wide projects. Reviews, analyzes, and summarizes recommendations regarding utilization, quality, and severity measurements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as required.
  • Performs mathematical calculations, performs statistical analysis, verifies statistical significance, makes recommendations regarding variation and notifies management of recommendations or changes as needed, or requested.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, care teams, and data scientists to improve medication-related interventions and patient care strategies.
  • Provide insights into prescription patterns, drug utilization, and their potential impact on overall health outcomes.
  • Work closely with IT and data management teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across platforms
  • Conduct cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and outcomes research related to pharmacy practices and medications.
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast medication utilization, health trends, and potential areas for cost reduction
