University Events Strategy and Policy Manager (Finance)



The University Events Strategy and Policy Manager is responsible for supporting and managing the coordination, compliance, and successful delivery of events across the University of South Florida. Reporting to the Director of Physical Security Systems and Event Compliance, this position ensures that university events adhere to institutional policies, space-use protocols, and safety regulations. The manager collaborates with university departments, student groups, and external partners to support the planning and logistical execution of events, while also contributing to the development and implementation of policies and training materials. This position provides operational leadership but does not carry primary responsibility for university-wide strategy setting.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in event management, operations, or university administration.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a higher education environment.
Familiarity with space-use scheduling systems (e.g., EMS) and event permitting processes.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Knowledge of campus safety protocols related to event execution.

ensuring space usage, permits, and policies are followed. Serve as a liaison with University Police and Facilities on logistical needs and safety requirements.

Policy and Compliance Management: Support the implementation of university event policies and ensure event activities are in compliance with applicable safety, risk, and space management protocols. Provide guidance to event requestors on requirements and procedures.

Stakeholder Communication and Support: Maintain positive relationships with faculty, students, staff, and community members to facilitate collaborative event
planning. Serve as a central contact for event-related inquiries and conflict resolution.

Training and Documentation: Assist in developing training materials and guides for event requestors. Deliver orientation and informational sessions related to event planning standards and institutional requirements.

Reporting and Evaluation: Assist in the collection and reporting of post-event data to evaluate outcomes and support process improvements. Maintain event records
and document lessons learned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: May provide work direction to support staff or student assistants. Does not supervise professional staff. Apply
