Process & Manufacturing Technician (Manufacturing)

The Process & Manufacturing Technician creates and maintains items in the company's ERP system and routes raw material through the manufacturing, assembly, and inspection processes. This position also facilitates "make versus buy" assessments and supports special projects in the manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the routing process for manufactured components and assemblies, which maps the flow of raw material and purchased components through various stages of manufacturing, final assembly, inspection, and shipping
  • Works with the Engineering department to establish production routing protocols for new products/assemblies
  • Facilitates the "make versus buy" process to determine which components are made in-house versus outsourced
  • Identifies and Implements process improvements for cost savings
  • Supports the Manufacturing Engineering department in machine tool organization
  • Supports creation and maintenance of engineering drawings for tooling or fixtures
  • Supports special manufacturing process improvement projects as required

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, or Computer Aided Design; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years' experience supporting manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of machining methodologies i.e. milling, drilling, turning, etc.
  • Ability to read, interpret and create blueprints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Good communication skills, ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Technical writing skills for detailed manufacturing instructions
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify errors or discrepancies in work instructions
  • Multitasking and organizational skills
  • Experience using CAD (SolidEdge, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Experience with CAM software packages (Esprit, MasterCAM, etc.)
