We are looking for the right candidate to lead the North American trading team. This role resides within the agency lending trading team in either Boston or Toronto

State Street is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head our Agency Lending trading function across North America. This MD-level role is responsible for helping drive the strategy, execution, and performance of Agency Lending trading across global equities and corporate bonds traded from Boston and Toronto. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the securities finance ecosystem, a strong track record of leadership in dynamic market environments, and the ability to inspire high performing teams. What you will be responsible for

As Agency Lending - Head of Trading, North America, Managing Director you will:

  • Lead the Agency Lending Trading desk for North America, managing a team of seasoned traders in Boston and Toronto
  • Drive trading strategy and optimize risk-adjusted returns for clients, while maintaining financial resources within regulatory and internal risk parameters
  • Serve as a key member of the global Agency Lending trading team, contributing to the overall direction and product evolution of the business
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key borrowers, beneficial owners, and internal stakeholders across product, technology, legal, and risk
  • Ensure trading activity adheres to all regulatory and compliance standards and that the team operates with transparency and integrity
  • Develop, motivate, and inspire our talent

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Securities finance, with significant exposure to agency lending and trading leadership
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-performance trading teams, including talent development, coaching, and organizational leadership
  • Strong understanding of global securities lending markets, trading dynamics, and borrower behavior
  • Deep knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, risk management practices, and trading technologies
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, clients, and regulators
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a commitment to innovation and client success
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFA preferred

Salary Range:
$235,000 - $246,250 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
