US Corporates - Associate Director - Leveraged Finance

Fitch is seeking an Associate Director within the Leveraged Finance sector in the US Corporates Group.

Qualitative credentials will weigh meaningfully in the selection of the candidate. A healthy sense of intellectual curiosity is critical, along with a demonstrated willingness to perform database management work and an ability to attack and explain topics of analytical complexity. We'll Count on You To:
  • Oversee a team of analysts responsible for producing Fitch's model-based private credit opinions.
  • Prepare credit opinions on corporate issuers using Fitch's proprietary model
  • Use Fitch's proprietary data on private credit to generated report ideas and lead the writing and publication of those reports.
  • Support senior members of the Leveraged Finance team in the publication of flagship research
  • Prepare market updates and presentation materials

What You Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree required, CFA a plus
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience, including some coverage or knowledge of the Leveraged Finance market. Exposure to private credit market a plus.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
  • Strong leadership, analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Ability to take responsibility and ownership of projects and run them independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change
  • Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • A professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis and well-developed financial statement analysis skills
  • An understanding of and a keen interest in Middle Market Lending and/or Private Credit
  • Experience executing on research projects - from idea generation through writing and presenting
  • Some experience with legal documents such as credit agreements and bond indentures
  • Strong communication skills displayed by a pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization.

FOR CHICAGO ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $105,000 and $130,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
