This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

A Sales Engineer (SE) is an outstanding individual who combines the communications skills to build strong professional relationships with the technical skills to develop compelling network solutions that accomplish our customers' business imperatives. The SE partners with an Account Manager to drive revenue growth by delivering business success to our customers and partners.

Daily activities include direct customer and partner engagement: comprehensive discovery, information sharing and collaborative solution design; proposal development; solution demonstrations; proof-of-concept test design and execution. SE's also work collaboratively with the team to highlight emerging customer requirements and use cases, convey the competitive landscape, and coordinate with the business and partner professional services organizations to ensure implementations meet or exceed customer expectations. Additionally, time is invested in technical, professional, and leadership development through self-study and formal training.

Position Specifics:

This position is a home-office based position is in the Central US region (TX, LA, OK, AR, MO, KS, NE, IA, IL, IN, OH, KY, MI, WI, ND, SD, or MN) focused on supporting Enterprise business throughout this region and requires travel

Required Experience:

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop meaningful and impactful professional relationships.

• Demonstrated ability and experience as a pre-sales SE for a network vendor or value-added reseller (prefer 5+ years' experience).

• Strong hands-on experience with Networking technologies and competing vendor solutions and hardware platforms.

• Experience in Campus network design and Security Solutions.

• Experience serving customers and delivering solutions across large enterprise networks.

• Deliver training and support to our industry partners and customer engineers.

• Collaborate with sales teams, vendors, and industry partners in assessing potential application of our products ensuring that optimum systems solutions are provided to new and existing customers.

• Develop and execute technical sales plans and proposals (RFP, RFQ) to grow Networking business in a driven and opportunity-filled sales environment.

• Use your outstanding industry and product knowledge to engage and influence customer technology strategies through showcasing technologies during technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, proof of concept, and trial engagements.

• Build, develop, and maintain strong professional relationships with customer IT decision-makers and industry partner community.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent desired

Required Technical Skills:

• 5+ year of hands-on experience designing and deploying Network Devices

• Campus network design with a focus on WAN technologies.

• Detailed understanding of IP routing and protocols for BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.

• Working knowledge of Linux

• Working knowledge of public and private cloud solutions

• Experience in integrating 3rd party solutions such as OSS/BSS systems, DevOps tools, and Network Management Systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot IP networks, knowledge of 3rd party analysis tools

• Experience working directly with developers to solve technical challenges

What we would love you to have

• Strong hands-on experience with the Juniper SSR product

• Strong hands-on experience with the Juniper Mist platform

• DevOps experience with proficiency in automation

• JNCIE, CCIE, or other expert-level industry certification is desired

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S. -based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $141,000.00 - $332,000.00
