Sr Engineering Manager- MEMS Sensors (Finance)



Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex systems for the Sensors, Guidance and Navigation (SGN) engineering team within the Honeywell Aerospace Technologies organization. As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for design, development, and verification of advanced inertial measurement systems featuring the world's most sophisticated sensors supporting commercial, defense, and marine navigation applications. This leadership will support the team that specializes in the design, development and manufacturing of novel, state-of-the-art sensors and instruments for military, space, and commercial applications. You will leverage your technical experience and skills to guide your team in the investigation and solution of challenging technical problems. Providing engineering support to the gyro factory in Minneapolis, MN and to the Nav and sensors GBE. You will use your leadership skills to motivate teams that are designing new or modifying existing products, parts, and processes. By collaborating with customers and the broader engineering teams, you will balance team workload and drive exceptional team performance with high impact for the business.

You will report directly to the Sensing, Guidance and Navigation Center of Excellence (COE) Senior Engineering Director, and you'll work out of either our Plymouth or Ridgway, Minnesota location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the strategic direction of engineering activities, drive innovation, and set clear objectives and expectations for your team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic direction for engineering activities, aligning them with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and optimize engineering resources, budgets, and timelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop a high-performing engineering team.
  • Control Engineering department expense budget.
  • Ensure program cost and schedule adherence (program EAC and milestone performance).
  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Interact with customers (internal and external) at a leadership level.
  • Collaborate with GBE teams to develop product roadmaps, STRAP inputs, and customer pursuits.
  • Facilitate the development/training of engineering resources.
  • Drive management operating systems that ensure project performance in accordance with internal and external stakeholder requirements.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorizationAs a Senior Engineer Manager at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in driving the success and growth of the company, leading and managing a team of engineers to deliver high-quality products and solutions, developing and executing engineering strategies that meet customer requirements and drive business growth, providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, and identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering, physics, or material science
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering management and systems integration.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, systems integration, and project management.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools and technologies relevant to sensing and navigation systems.
