Payroll Specialist (Administrative)



Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate processing, tax compliance, certified payroll reporting, and proper handling of deductions, garnishments, and adjustments. By maintaining secure payroll systems, accurate employee data, and thorough reporting, it supports regulatory compliance, internal audits, and timely, confidential communication.

Job Description:

  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process employee payroll using designated software, ensuring timely payment and proper handling of payroll adjustments. Off cycle adjustments as necessary.
  • Certified Payroll: Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with government regulations and contract requirements.
  • Tax Compliance: Calculate, withhold, and remit payroll taxes to federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Payroll Reporting: Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll reports to support internal auditing, management and regulatory compliance.
  • Employee Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records while protecting confidential information. Apply document retention policies.
  • Payroll Software: Utilize and maintain payroll software systems, ensuring accurate data entry, configuration, and security.
  • Deductions & Garnishments: Coordinate payroll deductions, contributions, wages orders, and garnishments to ensure accurate reconciliation.
  • Compliance & Audits: Assist with payroll audits and ensure adherence to all legal and SCA policies related to payroll practices.
  • Communication & Confidentiality: Communicate payroll-related information professionally and uphold strict confidentiality of payroll data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in payroll operations.
  • High School Diploma or GED
