Technical Training Developer (Manufacturing)



ACS Group is a privately held company that designs and manufactures comprehensive lines of auxiliary products for the plastics processing industry. ACS Group maintains an expansive product line, which includes size reduction equipment, material conveying equipment, metering, and blending devices, heat exchangers (mold temperature control units and chillers), drying systems, and presses. These products are marketed under such recognizable brand names as AEC, Sterling, Cumberland, Wabash and Carver.

This position will not have any direct reports.
 

Position Overview:
We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Technical Training Developer to lead and execute employee training initiatives within our manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all team members are equipped with the skills, safety knowledge, and operational expertise necessary to contribute to high-quality production and continuous improvement.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments focusing on technical skills, safety compliance, and equipment operation
  • Develop and deliver onboarding programs for production workers, maintenance teams, and supervisors
  • Create and implement training plans for product assembly, machine operation, quality control, and workplace safety
  • Organize certification programs for OSHA, forklift operation, lockout/tagout, hazardous materials handling, and other industry standards
  • Monitor and log training compliance and certification renewals to meet regulatory and audit requirements
  • Partner with engineering and production leads to create SOP-based training guides and visual work instructions
  • Facilitate cross-training programs to improve workforce flexibility and reduce production bottlenecks
  • Use real-time performance data and feedback to assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate safety drills, ergonomic workshops, and toolbox talks to reinforce best practices
  • Track skill development metrics, and report training outcomes to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with HR and EHS teams to align training programs with company policies and safety goals

Liaise with external vendors and technical experts for specialized skill training or equipment demos
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Industrial Psychology, HR, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 2–3 years experience in training development within a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, GMP, ISO certifications, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills across diverse employee groups
  • Proficiency with LMS (Learning Management System) tools, training software, and data reporting systems
  • Ability to leverage latest technologies in creating training content: AI, augmented reality and others as appropriate
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities
     

Bonus Skills

  • Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) to support workforce diversity
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Training & Development certifications, or Six Sigma credentials
