Desktop Support Analyst-Jonah Field (Project Management)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Desktop Support Analyst is responsible for providing first-tier technical and user-level management and support of the company' desktop and laptop computers, software, phones and related peripheral technology.  This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, offering computer assistance via telephone, remote access, and hands-on support.  Additionally, the Desktop Support Analyst works the Service Desk operations, documenting help desk tickets and resolutions. Furthermore, this position assists in the daily administration of computer, network, CCTV, IP phone, truck radios and other IT team field issues. The Desktop Support Analyst is based in the Jonah Field Office and reports to the Director – Information Technology.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain respectful and productive working relationships within and across all work groups, ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation.
  • Create a work environment that is consistent with the company's Purpose, Vision & Core Values.
  • Effectively utilize work order (Service Now) ticketing system to manage operational tasks, and  document tickets/ resolutions
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting and installation of multiple IT systems in office and field sites.
  • Meet users in the field (Rigs, well pads, etc.) to resolve issues for users who need to remain on-site.
  • Provide desktop hardware and software troubleshooting and support including but not limited to:
    • Software installation and configuration, hardware upgrades and repairs, warranty exchanges, and retired hardware disposal.
    • Maintain printers, projectors and other peripheral technology.
    • Support impromptu company meetings and events by setup, configuration, and operation of required IT equipment.
    • Provide user assistance in the specification and procurement of new software.
    • Provide user assistance and coaching in the best practice use of existing software and hardware.
    • Assist with implementation of new software and major software upgrades.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Maintain equipment inventory lists.
  • Help IT team identify and define end-user needs.
  • Availability for rotating after hours /weekend Service Desk support.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support the success of the department and company

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, business associates
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working experience on operating systems Microsoft Windows 10, Android, and iOS
  • Understanding of network systems servers, routers, switches TCP/IP and LAN technology
  • Safely operate motor vehicle in adverse weather conditions

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate in applied science degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ experience years in Desktop Support

  • Previous experience in Oil and Gas Exploration & Production

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work in a climate-controlled office and routinely use standard office equipment
  • Work in field locations that maybe inside and outside of buildings that may or not be climate-controlled areas

TRAVEL

  • Up to 10%, as business requires
  • Between Corporate Office, Field Office and Field sites (remote offices, antenna sites and drilling rigs)
