Director, Regulatory Consulting (Finance)



Kroll is seeking a Director in our Regulatory Consulting practice, to our U.S. office.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead Kroll's Transaction Reporting service line, overseeing a team of subject matter experts delivering regulatory reporting solutions.
  • Direct complex transaction reporting reviews, implementation, and remediation projects for U.S.-based clients with UK and EU regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Spearhead the deployment and enhancement of Kroll's proprietary RegAnalyze tool-a diagnostic engine that ensures transaction reporting accuracy under MiFIR and EMIR.
  • Leverage deep expertise in RegAnalyze's rules engine to help U.S. clients identify and correct reporting errors, ensuring compliance with UK and European regulatory standards.
  • Guide U.S. financial institutions in establishing robust transaction reporting frameworks as they expand into the UK and EU.
  • Provide strategic consulting on MiFIR and EMIR reporting requirements, including field-level data logic and validation standards.
  • Deliver technical training and develop educational materials tailored to U.S. clients navigating European regulatory regimes.
  • Liaise with European regulators and industry bodies to advocate for best practices and ensure Kroll's U.S. clients remain aligned with evolving compliance expectations.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to assist U.S. firms with cross-border regulatory reporting challenges.

Essential Traits:

  • One of only three global professionals involved in the development and customization of Kroll's RegAnalyze tool.
  • Over 11 years of experience with Kroll's proprietary systems and methodologies, including hands-on expertise in transaction reporting diagnostics.
  • Recognized Subject Matter Expert in MiFIR reporting, with prior experience at the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
  • Leads Kroll's internal and external training programs on MiFIR and EMIR reporting.
  • Deep understanding of transaction reporting field logic (204 fields for EMIR, 65 for MiFIR), including conditional and mandatory data requirements.
  • Proven ability to translate complex European regulatory reporting requirements into actionable strategies for U.S.-based clients.

Additional Essential Traits:

  • Over 20 years of experience in financial services, including trading, compliance, and consulting roles.
  • Former member of the FCA's Markets Reporting Team.
  • Holds a BA from the University of California, Davis, and multiple regulatory certifications including the CISI Diploma in Regulation and Compliance, UK Registered Representative Diploma, and MiFIR Advanced Transaction Reporting Diploma.
