Business Analyst (Finance)



Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Job Description:

Responsible for the completion of analytically driven actionable insights and the tracking/reporting processes within an analytics team, completing tasks/analyses in support of all assigned Operational Areas.

  1. Understand the data and the business well enough to formulate questions, analyze and deliver insights to business executives on possible changes to business operations, products, or services.
  2. Seek out business opportunities using data and provide recommendations to management.
  3. Identify and/or develop advanced analytical techniques that enable the business to respond proactively to shifts in market dynamics.
  4. Utilize Cloud data environment leveraging tools such as Snowflake, Tidal and DBeaver.
  5. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis using statistical approaches to solve analytics problems.
  6. Leverage advanced mathematics, programming, and tools (such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence) to perform large-scale analysis.
  7. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of strategic initiatives.
  8. Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate strategic insights and performance metrics to senior leadership.
  9. Monitor key risk metrics, trends, and portfolio performance indicators.
  10. Identify emerging credit risks and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.

This position is onsite at our Sioux Falls, SD office and does not allow for hybrid work arrangement or telecommuting, though occasional approved work from home is acceptable.

Requirements:

At least a Bachelor's or higher degree in Applied Statistics, Analytics, Data Science or a related field and two years of experience as a research, business or data analyst.

*Specific skills and other requirements: 

Position requires 2 years of demonstrable industry experience with the following:

  • Power BI or equivalent (Tableau, Qlik Sense), SQL and/or SAS or equivalent (Python, R)
  • communicating complex analytical findings into consumable, action-driven business insights.

Must also possess demonstrable industry experience or coursework completed in:

  • Performing large-scale analysis leveraging advanced mathematics, programming, and tools such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
