Labor Relations Specialist (Finance)

The position is responsible for the administration of leave requests, job bid and award process, seniority tracking, arbitration and grievance tracking, and the department's administrative support functions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
ESSENTIAL:
 

  • Researches Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) applications and processes, based upon legal requirements. Defines return to work status, including any restrictions and maintains all associated files. 
  • Coordinates return to work and fitness for duty exams. 
  • Serves as primary coordinator in collection and receipt of job bids, prepares/disseminates copies of job answer bulletins in compliance with the bargaining unit agreement, administers a variety of tests, pre-screens applicants, and interviews candidates.
  • Determines seniority dates and seniority placement and communicates/disseminates copies of the current departmental and division seniority list.
  • Maintains and produces various labor relations reports. 
  • Maintains computerized grievance log information and processes Demands for Arbitration, in accordance with timelines set forth in Article I, Section 10 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. 

OTHER:

  • All job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three  years of administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in  HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA, and the ADAAA preferred.
  • Understanding of a union environment, Collective Bargaining Agreement, Performance Code, and processes preferred.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and maintain the strictest of confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.

Pay Range:

$65,177.00 - $92,062.25 Annual
