Job Description:

   

Unicorn Wanted! The HPE Morpheus Software stack is now powering HPE's virtualization and private cloud portfolio; we need your help developing technical content and executing programs to get the word out to a variety of audiences. This Cloud Orchestration Technical Marketing leader focuses on communicating the value and benefits of hybrid cloud orchestration technologies to internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, sales engineers, and industry analysts. The role involves creating technical content, delivering presentations, providing product evangelism, and collaborating with other teams to influence product development, go-to-market strategy, and market positioning. 

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop technical documentation, presentations, white papers, blogs, and other materials that explain the features, benefits, and use cases of cloud orchestration solutions. 

  • Product Enablement: Train sales teams, partners, and customers on the technology, providing hands-on training and guidance. 

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Contribute to the development of marketing strategies, including competitive analysis and positioning of the product in the market. 

  • Product Feedback: Collect and analyze market feedback, providing insights to product management and engineering teams to improve the product roadmap. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, engineering, and other teams to ensure alignment and successful product launches. 

  • Industry Engagement: Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the product and build relationships with key influencers. 

  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of cloud technologies, orchestration principles, and competitive offerings. 

  • Problem Solving: Address technical questions and issues from customers and partners, providing solutions and guidance. 

  • Demo and POC Support: May assist in setting up and managing demo environments and proof-of-concept projects alongside sales engineers

  • Communication: Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Domain Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Cloud Computing Fundamentals:  cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), deployment models (public, private, hybrid), and cloud architectures.  Technical experience with major providers (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
  • Virtualization & Container Technologies:  Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft, KVM) plus containers and related orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift).
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform, which are crucial for managing and automating cloud infrastructure. 
  • Automation, and Configuration Management: Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for automating software deployment. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for task automation.
  • Infrastructure Fundamentals:  Basic understanding of networking concepts, including network topologies, protocols, and security principles as well as storage, including block/file, backup, and DR
  • App Development Fundamentals: Basic understanding of programming concepts and potentially a general-purpose language like Java.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:  Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, including those related to the Morpheus Data platform and related technologies.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM):  Understanding of ITSM concepts and experience with ITSM tools, specifically ServiceNow. 
  • Competitive Landscape: Experience and knowledge of VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and Nutanix Cloud Manager (calm.io), CloudBolt, and others
  • Morpheus Data Platform:  Knowledge of the Morpheus Data platform, its features, functionalities, and use cases. Hands-on experience with the platform a huge plus.

Generalized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive team skills and ability to cross functionally drive/influence work through others to lead and achieve results for complex, ambiguous projects.
  • General business acumen and knowledge of root cause analysis and problem detection.
  • Cross-functional skills and experience working with software development lifecycles, product management, solution architecture, and marketing/sales

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field of study. MBA or advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience in related field. Mix of experience as practitioner, sales engineer, customer, and/or professional services delivery is valuable.
  • Technical understanding and knowledge of on hypervisors, Kubernetes, and public cloud as well as adjacent automation scripting and IaC

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $156,000.00 - $296,000.00
