Vice President/Controller (Project Management)



Lynden Incorporated is seeking a Vice President/Controller to work as part of our SeaTac based senior leadership team.  You will ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, drive financial strategies, and support business growth through data-driven insights. This is not a safety sensitive position.

What you will be doing:
Financial Management, Reporting & Internal Controls

  • Direct the preparation of financial reports for internal and external financial reporting purposes while managing daily accounting operations.
  • Establish and maintain books and records according to applicable GAAP or IFRS and ensure compliance with record retention policies. Provide reporting for, and ensure compliance with various banking, government, and contract requirements and regulations.
  • Maintain adequate internal controls and related documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and to mitigate risk of fraud.
  • Monitor changes in financial regulations, ensuring the Company's policies and procedures align with new laws and industry standards.
  • Monitor leases, contracts, and agreements to ensure proper accounting and compliance with contract terms.
  • Manage the annual outside audit activities. Conduct annual risk analysis and identify areas to assign internal audit resources.

Financial Strategy & Analysis

  • Obtain an understanding of the different Lynden Company operations to support their controllers in their financial analysis and ensure consistency in reporting for consolidated financial analysis.
  • Develop and implement business intelligence and analytical tools. Provide business analysis support as needed to guide decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost management, and capital expenditure decisions.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop financial strategies that support business objectives and growth plans.
  • Support the effort to identify potential acquisitions and perform related due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities.

Management & Leadership

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment while delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Interview and train new team members.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance feedback.

What we need from you (minimum requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • Ten years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Minimum of five years' managerial experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Experience with and comfort with technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Office/365 applications and a large ERP financial system.

Preference if you also have:

  • Experience with Workday Finance.   
  • Driven, self-motivated, and a great attitude with a desire to teach and learn.
  • Ability and desire to manage people.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and decision-making skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once with aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves and collaborate hands-on, while seeking solutions to problems and roadblocks.
