A little about our position....
Come join our team as a FT Baker in our gourmet Bakery here at Uncle Giuseppe's in Melville! This position will be responsible for making the pizza dough for our Pizza Department, making strombolis and foccacia bread.
Our Bakers use the finest ingredients to prepare, mix and bake our gourmet products. Following our own specialty recipes, our Baker will ensure the quality and freshness of our baked items.
Responsibilities
Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc.Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controlsKeeping records relating to deliveries, inventory, and production levelsCleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shiftOther duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalentFormal training as a baker, trade school, bakery program is desiredMust have a minimum of 3 years of baking experience, with in depth knowledge of baking cakes, breads, pastries and all other bakery productsMust have strong communication, time management and resource management skillsA strong sense of attention to detail, especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products.Ability to work independently or with other team members to solve problems, plan schedules, fulfill orders, and create amazing baked goods.Must be able to speak, read and communicate in the English languageFlexibility to work around customer demands, including early morning, night, weekend and holiday availability.
