Duration: This is a contract position supporting design of auxiliary systems for a Small Modular Reactor. Duration is not known at this time.

• Design civil infrastructure supporting deep underground Small Modular Reactor's: access shafts, surface support structures, earth retention, drainage systems.
• Conduct geotechnical assessments and design drainage and water control around shafts.
• Coordinate structural design with mechanical and electrical components.
• Ensure civil designs meet seismic, safety, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural focus preferred).
• 5+ years with underground construction or nuclear facility civil design.
• Knowledgeable in geotechnical engineering, structural design (AISC/AASHTO), and drainage.
• Experience with DOE, NRC, or analogous regulatory frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer
