Process Automation/Discipline Engineering Manager (Finance)

There is an immediate opening for a Manager, Discipline Engineering & Process ACOE within Honeywell's Energy and Sustainability Solutions (ESS) Engineering and Functional Excellence (EFE) organization. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong partnership with the project execution team, as well as the ISC sites to ensure proper engineering standards are applied to all major capital projects and support project execution within AOP while delivering on commitments to its customers. The successful candidate will provide leadership, vision, and best practices to ensure ESS deploys its constrained capital budgets in a manner that reinforces and demonstrates our priorities while maximizing economic value for Honeywell. It is the responsibility of this leader to develop teams that own all aspects of engineering disciplines and process controls/automation working collaboratively with functions and internal & external stakeholders to deliver the best-in-class results and value to the business.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 10+ years of experience in leading people in large and small capital projects
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior management role responsible for engineering, procurement, operations, or supply chain

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Discipline Engineering and Process ACOE
  • Responsible for the development of the functional design basis of capital projects, equipment specifications, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of design, and field construction oversight
  • Develop, execute, supervise, and coordinate all technical aspects of the work safely, with primary focus on the integrity/quality of the engineering/design, while achieving schedule and budget objectives
  • Plan and coordinate multi-discipline engineering design assignments within and across disciplines, including multidiscipline technical issues and single discipline technical issues that have the potential to impact overall project progress
  • Plan and manage engineering and design systems implementation, technical specifications, standard drawings, standard setup of models etc. and data management systems
  • Ensure "Basis of Design" (BoD) is adequately documented and changes to it are managed
  • Ensure that engineering activities undertaken on projects follow relevant legislation, codes, standards, and customer requirements as defined in the BoD and Project Execution Plan (PEP)
  • Ensure the engineering systems for analysis and design used on the project are compliant with Global directives, are appropriate to the complexity and nature of the task and are used efficiently
  • Steward the design so that it meets or exceeds engineering standards regarding quality, cost, safety and performance, and innovative solutions are being encouraged
  • Ensure scope changes are identified and management of change processes are adhered to
  • Identify and implement additional project Technical Peer Reviews as necessary to ensure technical integrity of the project
  • Maintain leading technological edge and engineering knowledge of processes across the business
  • Ensuring that short and long-term support plans for the applications, networks and systems that constitute the process control technology are developed and implemented across the sites as per the Manufacturing Automation Process (MAP) vision and mission.
  • Ensuring that appropriate processes for the selection, application, and delivery of automation and process control technology solutions exist, are known and get implemented on-site while:
  • Complying with all safety standards and meeting all legal requirements.
  • Complying with all PMT (Performance Materials and Technologies) Automation technology standards.
  • Providing the best life-cycle value.
  • Ensuring that the optimization of existing manufacturing processes and equipment is planned and implemented as per the MAP vision and mission.
  • Ensuring that all automation projects are planned and implemented as per the MAP vision and mission and its principles and guidelines are accurately represented in project scoping, design, and implementation.
  • Team Management and Development
  • Coach and develop employees, including direct and matrix reports
  • Develop succession planning, talent roadmaps and employee development plans
  • Organize technical and work process training to address deficiencies
  • Ensure individual and collective engineering team competency/skills are appropriate
