Continuous Improvement System (CIS) Manager (Finance)



SUMMARY The Continuous Improvement System (CIS) Manager position serves as the point person in each factory for all activities related to implementation and maintenance of the Continuous Improvement System. Depending on the size of the factory, this may or may not be a dedicated position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Scheduling consultants for events such as Kaizens, Six Sigma training, etc. with approval of VP / GM. Establish and monitor lean continuous improvement metrics with all company department managers. Maintenance of factory strategy deployment process and TTIs when applicable Management of factory Productivity process and monthly reporting Scheduling and/or facilitation of improvement events such as Kaizen, process improvement, or Six Sigma events, etc. Maintenance of SharePoint and ACIT CIS Calendar Reporting on monthly CIS events for inclusion in the President's letter and CIS Newsletter Schedule follow-ups to all major continuous improvement events to ensure that all improvements have been sustained. Ensure 7-day and 30-day Kaizen reviews are proactive and completed in a timely manner. Support policy deployment and cascading KPI's through MDI activities and leverage the CIS audit system to ensure sustainability. Work with the factory management team to identify and lead continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive operational excellence and improve profitability Ensure that teams have resources available; access to sponsors and support from outside the team Participate in lean manufacturing networks; training with other CIS leads within CIS and throughout Amphenol-CIT. Champion the LEAN cause, implement and lead the Continuous Improvement System program. Continually work with supervisors and cell leaders to ensure continuous improvements and cultural transformation are taking place SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises 2 - 5 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining, and terminating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assigned as needed QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Business Operations or other related field preferred 5+ years of management experience preferred A strong knowledge of Lean principles including 5S and Kaizen. Ability to travel approximately 15% of the year Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Amphenol-CIT business, production, materials, order process and systems. Written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with a diverse group of people. WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS This is an air-conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following are potential items encountered: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes and clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job.
