Business Analyst 1 Internet (Finance)



Overview

We are seeking a full-time Internet Business Analyst 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and communicating user requirements for small to medium size projects of average complexity.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with project team including product owner to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables are aligned with project objectives
  • Demonstrate understanding of business analysis principles/methodologies and apply them to development of basic user requirements
  • Manage user requirements for small to medium size projects of average complexity
  • Identify basic discrepancies and conflicts in project requirements
  • Assist in resolving missing or conflicting requirements of basic scope among multiple stakeholders
  • Offer suggestions to improve business processes to the product owner and IT business analysis processes to more experienced Business Analyst
  • Execute plan made by supervisor or mentor and may plan own documentation and analysis
  • Thoroughly document work in organized manner in accordance with Garmin and IT standards
  • Applies standards and procedures to accomplish tasks and learns how to use and apply appropriate tools as needed
  • Attends and actively participates in department and facility meetings and classes
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality through knowledge of its precepts, skillful workplace applications and continuous organizational improvement
  • Demonstrate responsibility for ongoing personal development, professional growth, and continuing education
  • Work with project Product Owner to document requirements using use cases, scenarios, business, and workflow analysis that align with project objectives
  • Decompose high-level information into detailed user stories and abstract up from low-level information to general understanding of business needs
  • Collaborate directly with co-located and remote development team and business clients
  • Collaborate with QA team to define test cases and assist with testing efforts
  • Work with end users to ensure appropriate user acceptance testing and deployment validation is completed and work with language services/country business units to ensure translations are correct
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn how to use and apply applicable technologies
  • Demonstrates understanding of business analysis principles and methodologies and capability to apply that knowledge to effectively accomplish essential functions of role
  • Understands importance of thoroughly documenting work in an organized manner
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to complete well defined basic tasks and/or projects
  • Identifies and resolves problems of basic scope using proper tools and techniques
Desired Qualifications
  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
  • Knowledge of current web technologies
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile
  • Knowledge of basic database concepts
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and testing procedures
  • International communications experience
