Production Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

To ensure prompt and accurate maintenance, repair and installation of the company production equipment by training, developing and managing our employees according to established company standards, in order to maximize production efficiencies.

Essential Functions

  • Manages, trains and develops employees to ensure that they are performing job duties in accordance with established standards.
  • Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local Laws).
  • Reviews all departmental activity daily to prioritize tasks; ensures correct and timely equipment changeover (e.g. can line, bottle line) and schedules preventative maintenance and other installation and repair work to minimize production downtime.
  • Trains and audits employees on all safety practices on an annual basis (e.g. lock-out/tag out; electrical safety) according to established standards.
  • Completes and maintains daily worksheets, preventative maintenance records, AIB, chemical control logs, MSDS sheets, safety records, audit reports and other paperwork according to established company policy; reviews and approves time-off requests and time cards.
  • Maintains confidentiality of financial information (e.g. department budget information, capital expenses), employee information (e.g. discipline and wage information) and other sensitive and confidential information.
  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
  • Modifies, troubleshoots and programs programmable logic controls.
  • Assists employees in troubleshooting, repair, installation and changeovers of all equipment to ensure that equipment is set up correctly according to established standards to minimize downtime during production runs.

Education

Vocational / Technical i n industrial maintenance repair, electronics or related field required. 2 Year / Associate Degree i n industrial maintenance repair, electronics, or related field strongly preferred; or equivalent work experience

Experience

3 - 5 yeas of production maintenance mechanic experience. 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements

Knowledge of: basic mechanical principles including basic knowledge electrical, mechanical, programmable logic control (PLC) and hydraulics systems; beverage industry; diagnostics and repair of production equipment, industrial refrigeration systems, electrical systems and National Electric Code, compressed air systems, and HVAC systems; general management principles; Microsoft Office Suite. Skill in: internal customer service; welding; training and coaching; troubleshooting equipment problems. Ability to: train, develop, lead and manage a team; work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; operate a computer, boom lift, man lift, hand tools, lathes, grinders, saws, heavy duty specialty tools and other mechanical equipment, read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics; accurately measure and read Volt Ohm meter and calipers; delegate; problem solve.
