Postdoctoral Scholar Research (Finance)



Position Summary:

The Taylor-Clark laboratory, in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology at the Morsani College of Medicine University of South Florida, seeks a motivated Post Doctoral Fellow to conduct research supported by multiple NIH-funded awards. The Taylor-Clark lab investigates visceral interoception and its contribution to diseases of the airways, cardiovascular system and the gut. The current project investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the role of vagal sensory nerves in mediating respiratory reflexes, bronchospasm and airway hyperreactivity in asthma/allergic airway disease.Minimum Qualifications:

MD or PhD in medical, biological or physical sciences

Preferred Qualifications:

Solid expertise with lung function testing in rodents (flexivent, plethysmography), expertise in inflammatory or infectious models of lung disease.

Successfully published manuscripts as first author in peer-reviewed journals.

Completed doctoral-level course in grant writing.

Excellent organization skills.

Attention to detail, high quality record keeping.

Excellent English writing and oral communications skills.
