Manager, Financial Reporting (Hybrid) (Finance)

The Retirement Strategies BU Controllers group is seeking a highly motivated and resourceful individual for the role of Manager, Financial Reporting to provide reporting and analysis of actual key business measures for both Individual and Institutional businesses, as well as providing support and analysis in the generation of externally reported financial statements for both Individual and Institutional GAAP and Statutory results. This role will work closely with partners in the Actuarial and Corporate Finance as well as partners in the Chief Investment Office.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Preparation and analysis of the quarterly results of the Retirement business on a GAAP and STAT basis.

  • Support the development of the quarterly Results Review Packages, specifically the Non-AOI exhibit for actuals and reviewing and validating actual results in ledger.

  • Analyze trends in the business and produce insightful analytics for management, highlighting key changes in the quarterly results.

  • Support the completion of required SEC filings for subsidiaries and support the SAB99 analysis for the subsidiary filers.

  • Support the review of Retirement's Internal Control framework.

  • Coordinate and assist in addressing requests as a result of PwC's quarterly review and year end testing processes for both Individual and Institutional businesses as well as Internal Audit test plans.

  • Coordinate ad-hoc strategic projects and presentations as required by management.

  • Support other process signoffs as per the requirements of Controller oversight.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Insurance and Investment Accounting and Reporting (GAAP and STAT).

  • Coordination of certain quarterly close control requirements.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of financial reporting/finance related experience.

  • General knowledge in USGAAP/Statutory accounting and ability to understand complex accounting and actuarial concepts.

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.

  • Accounting advisory/research skills.

  • Sox controls experience and skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with a close attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to partner effectively.

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Accounting and audit experience in accounting firms is a plus.

  • CPA highly preferred and advanced degree or designation (e.g., CFA/MBA) is a plus.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
