Learning and Development Intern (Finance)

Join Royal Credit Union as a Learning and Development Intern. In this role, you'll support team member development through hands-on work with training programs, learning technologies, and in-person facilitation!

All applicants must be located in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Valley Area & include a resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying. If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 18 months and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship. Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.

What You'll Do:

The Learning and Development Intern position plays a crucial role in supporting the development of team members at Royal, through management and operation of a Learning Management System (LMS), delivering in-person training, and developing and updating web-based training. The Learning and Development Intern is responsible for system support and maintenance, content development and management, learner support, and facilitating impactful training and workshops to our team members.

Our Commitment To You:

  • Compensation: $17.41 - 19.49 per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)

What's Needed For This Position:

  • Enrolled at a University or Technical College throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree, minor, or certificate in Training and Development, Human Resources Management, Business Communications, Organizational Development or similar field.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong listening and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of LMS platforms and e-learning technologies.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and e-learning development tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Word, and Outlook; comfortable using digital devices and learning new technologies.

What We'd Love To See:

  • Administration of a learning management system (LMS) and/or other learning platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas
  • Experience facilitating training and development-related classes or workshops

Intern Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Co-facilitate new hire onboarding, classroom and virtual professional development workshops, and more.
  • Assist in the daily administration and maintenance of the LMS platform, upload digital learning content, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with instructors and course authors to populate the course catalog with training content, provide technical support to users, address inquiries, and resolve LMS access and functionality issues.
  • Generate reports on course enrollment and activity, assist with annual compliance course review and workflow management, and review new courses prior to launching.
  • Participate in testing new LMS features and updates, provide feedback to improve system functionality and user experience, and suggest improvements for LMS processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction.

Work Schedule:

  • Working approximately 15-20 hours/week during the school year and 35-40 hours/week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center throughout the school year and during breaks.
  • This is a limited term, non-benefit eligible, position that will go from January 2026 - May 2027.
  • Must be able to commit to the 18 month internship.

Training:

  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
